Local Web Monitor is a website uptime monitor that runs entirely on your own devices. The developer does not operate any server for the app, does not provide user accounts, and does not collect, store, or receive any of your personal data.
What the app stores
- Your monitors, their settings, and their check history are stored locally on your device.
- On platforms that support sync, you can optionally sync that data through your own private cloud account (for example, iCloud on Apple devices). It is never sent to the developer. Raw per-check response-time samples stay on each device and are never synced.
- If you set up email alerts, the SMTP password you enter is stored in your device's secure credential storage. It is never synced, never included in exports, and never sent to the developer.
Network connections the app makes
Monitoring is the purpose of the app, so it makes network requests, but only to destinations you choose:
- It sends HTTP/HTTPS requests to the websites you add, to check whether they are reachable.
- If you configure email alerts, it connects to the SMTP mail server you specify, using the credentials you enter, to send those emails.
- If you configure alert channels (Telegram, Discord, Slack, or a webhook), it sends alert messages directly to the endpoint you provide.
None of these connections pass through the developer, and none of them are used for tracking.
What the app does not do
- No analytics or usage tracking.
- No advertising.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No accounts, sign-in, or profiles.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
